the other day i broke the string in my magic wand and tried 10 or so different strings but alas they would rip on the sharp edges of the strings insertion point in the inner wand so i came up w/ this(frustrated by 10 or so failed attemptsto re string my wand i was at a sail shop(to get my sailpalm when the idea hit me try steel fishing leader wire! so i picked up the smallest diameter wire i could find and it worked (100X better than the orginal string)

its lik having a wire fid thats not allchimsy and flimsy i find its easer to poke the wand through(empty)the insert wy wire fid through thsn pull the empty rod the rest of the way through. now i jst insert the wand and pull its great

The original Wands were made with a braided wire snare.

I make my own snares out of leftover strands of technora or vectran ropes. I take a three thinner-than-dental floss pieces and braid them together as tight as I can. make about a 5" loop, then tie it together at the bottom. It works out alright. I dip them in maxijacket coating after, just to stiffen it up a bit.

thanks for the tip rich i'd heard a lot about you from jason down at geezers this year. i'm trying to make this spring but i dout i'll be able to make it this go around

but i'm deffinatly trying to pull this thing off

I use 80# test braided spectra fishing line. Only had to replace it once so far.
