speed line technique

Angle is everything. If you are just zipping with a strap and biner the angle has to be more than one might think to overcome the friction. As you work up the tree the angle gets faster make sure your ground crew accounts for it. I have 2 sets of straps (10 each set). This allows the ground crew to have a new bunch of straps tied on before I'm out. And Treeco is right small small small, get used to it first, and always make sure you climbing system is clear of the zip.
 
If the situation is right, have the zip line anchored high in the tree near your TIP. Then you can take limbs from the top or the bottom, and the ground guy can "pop" the line to get some good trajectory on the pieces.
