Spar removal best practices ? (Pull line?)

This is why I had to move away from contract climbing. Different guys on the ropes is frustrating as hell, and can be very dangerous. Working with someone I really trust, we can do anything.
When I started contract climbing for the only guy I climb for, bringing one of my groundies was part of the the deal.

I cut and lower my own pieces quite frequently because I have a lot of faith in the rope man to read my mind and adjust accordingly, on the fly.

As the climber/ cutter, I'm just waiting on the rope man during lowering, so it keeps me busy the whole time.

For the occasions that I need help landing the piece, I don't need to pull the ground worker away from whatever he or she is working on until the piece is nearing the ground rather than before beginning the cut.

Not for novices.

I did that with my first groundie Benny back in 2012. I told people, if you want me, then you get Benny too. That worked well because most small outfits that needed a contract climber could also use an extra hand on the ground. Then Benny left me for Hydro. *sigh*
