Songs of Perfection

The fact that he wrote the song at such a young age is amazing, and now his age and life experiences make his lyrics even more meaningful . As I understand it his young wife died tragically and left him with a young daughter.
 
I used to attend a black church in Lancaster SC with a friend whose father was the pastor, and whose sisters were in the choir. The choir would march in from a back room, swaying from side to side with each step, and pointing an index finger up towards the heavens above, while singing. They could move a persons soul.

 
If you haven't seen the movie "Queen and Slim" you should. A very cool movie in which Sturgill plays an asshole cop.
