Somebody help me out with this one

I don't think I've ever seen this kinda tree around here. Anyone know what it is? Seemed like a fairly soft wood. Sorry, the last photo is kinda fuzzy.

I think that is Salix caprea or willow

That was my first thought but for some reason I'm doubting myself. I guess the flowers have me all flustered.

Salix alba is everywhere, but I don't see this one very often.

Salix myrsinifolia - maybe. never seen it before but the google results are similar.

...well, i wrote this and then googled treezybreez's willow. his looks even more like it...

I am pretty sure that it's willow. Thanks for sharing, it is fun to see trees that aren't very common here.

no leaves on it right now so flowers, buds, habit, and bark are all we have to compare.

I have heard that the Russians like it because it is the first tree to bloom in the Spring.

willow, Salix discolor or cinerea. Honey bees tear them up for pollen first thing in the spring. Aah, I see the censor software has misinterpreted the common name for this tree. Sorry guys. Use your imagination.
