Thanks all. I have a much greater appreciation for why the crane sits idle 6 months a year. I'm mainly just a climber though my time spent operating equipment has increased over the past few years. We still operate our skid loaders in all conditions, and I always thought the cold thick fluid couldn't be good on the hydraulic system. Cost of changing out fluids vs. cost of compromising the entire hydraulic system. Seems like a no brainer, but I'm not the one who gets to make those decisions. Thanks especially to squad143 for the chart (even upside-down). I'll be looking for more info online.
