Small/Medium Stump Grinder Options

Hey guys, I'm looking to replace our Rayco 1625 Super Junior with a used higher hp machine. Budget-wise, I'm thinking I'd be looking for something between 35 and 50 hp. I have a Rayco dealer in town (Ag Pro) , so I'm kind of leaning toward that as a brand. I want something on wheels, since I have little need for tracks and tearing up manicured lawns unnecessarily, plus I don't have snow or clay or too many hills here in FL. But I'm curious on people's thoughts as to belt-driven vs hydrostatic and gas vs diesel long term maintenance (engine or pumps replacement) costs. Also, do you think it's wise to go with Rayco due to the close dealer, or are there stronger arguments for something like a Carlton, even if the closest dealer is 7 hours away? About 1.5-2 hrs for Vermeer (But I won't even consider those top-heavy machines). Any other considerations I should take into account? Tips on checking out used machines? Thanks!

Bandit 2550, no belts, just grease for maintenance and teeth when they need replaced. Solid grinder and money maker

I bought a Rayco RG45 last year. Also demoed the new RG55 with Kubota gas engine and actually thought it had more power than the 45 hp Diesel in the RG45. These two engines use the same block and Kubota somehow is able to get the same torque curve out of the gas engine. I think you get more bang for your buck with the direct drive rather than hydraulic drive wheel.

This would be nice, but sadly I don’t have a mini articulating loader yet. Cool video, though. Thanks.
