Slick pin update?

The original pin on the Quickie had a slightly rounded point on the spring-loaded "wedge" or tooth. The manufacturer offers two styles of the keeper tooth, one slightly rounded, they call it the "Removable plunger", the other more pointed is called the "Standard plunger". I believe the new pin will have the Standard plunger.

You'll have to fight the new pin tooth just a bit more to get it out ;-)

I just got my updated slick pin a day or so ago.. haven't unwrapped it yet. Don't know when I will. I love the quickie..

The new pins are a fully machined parts with the 90 degree plungers. The issue that this addressed can be found @ www.treestuff.com/notice.
The new parts that are being sent out and included with all Quickie models for sale have a smaller tolerance and better match the shackle bodies.

Well shit. I tend my rope runner with a quickie. Best tending i've found yet. The new quickie pins are too fat to fit through the hole in the cam. Ain't that a bitch. Guess i'll be sticking with the old pins for the tending spot.

Love my quickie. Not too many people have them up here in the north it seems. I need to buy more that's for sure. I'm pretty sure my new pin is in South Carolina ha ha. Can anyone post a comparison pic please!?

I don't have a quickie, but a guy I know used his extra pin with a small shackle that he drilled the threads out. I don't think that I would use it in a life support situation, but it sounds like you're using the quickie for tending anyway.

They look pretty much the same! The new pin has the sharp plunger barbs like moss was describing and the pin is a slightly larger diameter.

So! The new pins don't work with the Slic-Key. The Slic-Key still works with the Rope Runner and the Rope Wrench!

It's crazyness. I keep getting the new o Wes in the mail. Pretty soon I'm gonna open a slic pin warehouse. If anybody had a need I have 2 up for grabs.

All of the pins after the $29.99 quickie have been longer. Only the very first batch of milled SS one were the shorter ones.

New quickies were wider and we need to make the pins the same length.
