I do not have any details other than this article, just wanted to pass the word so everyone can get them out of service. They are recommending that the terminations be cut off, and then the rope can continue to be used with a stopper knot.

This is interesting - few years ago now I did have one CE Climb, I think it was, that I sent back to TreeStuff because the slaice splice was "natty" - it just didn't look and feel right and wasn't something that I would climb on if it was used, and this was the way it was right out of the package! Nick graciously replaced it no problem but I never did hear back from anyone what the problem was. Moral of the story - inspect new stuff as well as gear in service. Less than sound stuff can slip by I guess.
(again, sign me born under the birth sign of the Cringing Chicken)

Just cut it off???
It sounds like these folks don't understand.
Knots are bulky. If you got a slaice, you wanted streamlined.
They better be compensating these people somehow for messing up their ride to work.
That splice wasn't free.

From the recall notice:

Option 1: Receive a voucher and choose a TEUFELBERGER product at any TEUFELBERGER dealer.

Option 2: Receive an exact replacement depending on availability. This can take up to 12 months.

Okay. I only saw the screenshot. I don't have any slaices.

Didn't tberger put out a weird sorta notice out about the slaice a few months ago?
Can't remember but I wanna say they were either recalling a batch of ce climb slaices or telling us to look for a defect idk...
