Just in case someone who doesn't use a tender doesn't know what it is, it's usually a small pulley set up in conjunction with your climbing knot that allows slack in the rope to be taken up with one hand, instead of using two hands to take up slack- one to hold the knot and the other to pull slack.

I was looking at mec.ca and was wondering about that one. I opted for the petzl fixe at this time. I like the idea of having all the connections on one biner. Not so good for climbing up a tree; its nice to have the end free to advance your TIP untill you set up on rappel nice and high.
