SIPS Pants

Well, I've finally decided to buy a pair of SIPS pants and was wondering what type of leather work belt is good to use with these pants, wider or narrower?

I don't like the buckle system that Arborwear uses so I won't be using the one that I own.

Any ideas?

Arborwear has had at least 3 buckle systems:

1. Two plastic D-Rings, w/ a 1" Wide belt.

Under tension this is fine, but it loosens very easily when the waist band is compressed.
e.g. When saddle pulls the belt ends together.

2. One plastic square buckle, w/ 1-1/4" belt that goes thru the buckle in only one direction.

This works (stays put) better, but is a little combersome to adjust. (At least for me.)

3. Metal square, w/ 1-1/2" belt that loops back on itself.
This works great, and is my current "climbing" belt.

I contacted Arborwwear about #1, they said that they were not aware of that problem.
But immediately gave me a credit, toward #3.

They also let me keep #1, which I now use as a darn good accessory strap.

What about the suspenders being a hazard for ground workers feeding brush into a chipper.

Don't worry about that. The buttons holding the suspenders come off pretty easy. Too easy, in fact. I've replaced several. I want my money back.
