Simple climbing setup

I have been climbing regularly for ten years, but I am not a pro arborist, so don't let my opinion on tree gear carry nearly as much weight as the others here. But I feel compelled to throw out my experience with Hyperclimb for what it's worth and to see if anyone else had a similar experience. Based on the recommendations of others here, including rico whose opinion I highly value, I bought some Hyperclimb a while back, and I am sorry to say that this is the only rope I ever tried that I judged as unacceptable for my use. I got 200' and the first thing I did was milk it. I milked 3 feet the first pass, 2 more feet the 2nd pass, and nothing the third pass. Climbing primarily with a hitch/Rope Wrench (some Rope Runner Pro and Bulldog Bone) with it seemed fine at first, but the more I used it, the more it flattened to the point it was more like a ribbon than a rope. I could have tolerated that, but when my knee ascender would not grab it, I had enough. It's very aggravating trying to step up on a knee ascender that grabs the rope only half the time. I didn't have that trouble with the foot ascender, but that is always grabbing a loose rope, while the knee ascender is always grabbing a taut rope. If the ribbon isn't oriented just right, the cam wouldn't catch it. Maybe there is something I need to learn about climbing that prevents this, or maybe I got a bad batch of rope, but whatever, I have no use for it. If someone wants it, I will sell it cheap.
@misfit how cheap you willing to sell that Hyperclimb for?

Finally got to test the new setup. It was great. Way easier ascending compared to the lockjack. The tree was a horrible pine with vines to test but no complaints. I’m looking forward to testing again with a better climb. I can see what some people are saying about the hyper climb it has a feel to it like the inner core is separate from the outer sheath , where the older say true blue feels like one solid line. I don’t mind that at all the line was perfectly good for me. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Happy climbing !
