Should I buy this chipper?

Hi -
this is my first tree buzz post. Thanks to the helpful climber (Shane?) who told me about TREEBUZZ at the PNWISA tree comp in Olympia.
I have been using a vermeer 625 for five years. Just today a chipper sales guy called the 625 "a child's toy". Certainly a small chipper. I have the chance to purchase a Brush Bandit 65AW with a 35 hp Hatz Diesel. It is in excellent condition. The feed opening is 6 by 12. This would obviously be a very big step up from the 625 but it is still a 6" machine. The Vermeer 9" also runs with a 35 hp motor (I think, thats why its the "935"). I prefer running a small company and don't know that I need a huge machine. This will be a much waited for step forward. I figure that in time I may obtain some monster and this would always be a good machine for pruning. Does anyone think that I am missing some wisdom here?
thanks-
Dan Olsen

ps: Anyone want to buy a 625 vermeer in good condition for $3000?

I demo'd the 6" Vermeer and Bandit side by side. They were setup basically the same. I think the V had a horse or two more...both were air cooled gas engines.

I had my bosses choose branches from a pile of limbs that I had cut. They also chose which machine to do the chipping.

The pieces that didn't go through the V were set aside. After the pile of demo brush had been chipped I took the pieces that the V couldn't chip and fed them to the Bandit. The Bandit took everything that it was given to eat.

There is no comparison between the two as far as I'm concerned. How simple is it...look down the chute...which is bigger?

There are only 200 hours on the Bandit, one owner, have babied the machine (at least so he says) asking $9K. I have the cash for this. I can't find a good 12 at this price unless I go with a Vermeer 1250 which I don't like.....But you may be right, AMerican Arborist. Thanks for your opinion.
