How many do it? I watched ropeshield's youtube vid, got a feather-file and had at it with both my Zubat and sugoi

how many of you guys do this?

I used the one from Stihl for sharpening their handsaws.

all you do is follow the angle on the teeth and as long as the file will fit in the groove, it is all good.

Do these only work for non heat tempered steel? It was to my knowledge that if the tips of the saw were a blue colour they were heat tempered steel and were impossible to sharpen. However, I have never tried to sharpen a hand saw

I've sharpened them in the past but they never cut as good as when they're new.

Just cleaning the blades up with Easy-Off oven cleaner makes a big improvement.

Just quick update on that sharpening I did in winter.
I have used that handsaw more than usual because the 200t was in for repair and now has a mind of its own and I will hold off on a new one because I am a cheap SOB.
So the Sugoi has seen alot of action and is holding its edge still and I am still seeing the typical saw shavings/bits coming off.
Does stick a bit more than before due the sides being taken down from the sanding. Just slightly annoying.

BTW I use that thing like machete to hammer out dead wood, sprouts and latch onto limbs/hangers.
