Service Dogs/Managing Disability

I had an "emotional support dog" for help with my PTSD after getting out of the army. I needed/wanted to take him to work with me so i had to quit my shitty job as an underappreciated climber at a high production tree company and started contracting.... Soon enough had to start my own company... Soon enough had 25 employees... Soon enough got sick of managing people and decided to sell to said employees... Took the dog to 25 countries and had a good time. Just lost him last year. ....anyways, my point is, if you need that dog, find a place where you're valued enough so you can him with ya. People will bitch about it, but my dog never slowed me down to the point that I was less useful than just about anyone else on the jobsite. Don't let it cause a problem. Train and excersize your dog regularly. Socialize it so it is happy on a jobsite. Bring food and water. Tie the dog up or use a shock collar if necessary. Do what ya gotta do and slay trees and any employer would be a fool to not hire you. Ps.... Customers love my dog, I once had a lady drive half an hour just to bring my dog some doggie ice cream on a hot day. I had people call for a quote and say "are you that tree guy with the dog"? .... Anyways... This thread brought up some emotions for me, so sorry for the ramble. Good luck and godspeed to you and your pooch.FB_IMG_1668562416868.jpg

Here's a photo from back in the day when I had just started my company. I never would tie him up or anything. I'd say, "yep, that's our supervisor, someday I'll have his job." When he'd pee in people's bushes I would joke about sending them a bill for the nitrogen treatment. I swear I never lost business from that dog, or if I did, it never matched the business I gained from him.Screenshot_20230108-193234~2.png

Correct. It's silly. The ADA is very specific on this for a reason. Most people just don't know what questions to ask. I'm going to edit my document I made last quarter and post it on here to see what y'all think. I may dedicate to making cards as well. I hope something changes the tune of this topic. It seems too often people who need the service dogs don't get them, and homeless drug addicts abuse the service dog system. Grrrr. Tweakers suck
Brando, what breed or cross is your dog? I love Labs but imagine they’d be too big.
