Arg! I responded yesterday on my ipad but obviously i neglected to press the send button.
I had to dismiss Jobber because it doesn't track a big backlog of jobs very well nor does it split quotes into several work orders if multiple visits are needed. Arborgold does this very well but that's about the only thing....
Service CEO appears to be able to handle larger amounts of data and is very customizable. It comes with a $300 setup fee and $95/mnth user fee. I can get away with only one full user login. If one of my staff is doing sales and scheduling, he can login to do that but not at the same time as me. We would need another user at anoth $95/mnth for that. So $1400/year is pretty good.
Compare that to realgreen that requires about $5 investment to get up and running. I'm sure that realgreen is a better product but they're still operating in 2008. Difficult mobility, an add on for mapping feature at another $2k or something. It is obviously the best choice for a 10+ truck lawn care business.
Service CEO has been around for a while and because of that I can trust that they are likely not going anywhere. Jobber is very new and thus unproven but it's clear that they are working hard at developing their software and making customers happy.
There are still some things that i don't like about service ceo but isn't that the case with any software? It will take some time to learn how to use it and integrate it but it'll be a good move.
Hopefully i don't regret the switch in a year's time.
