selner super sender

I think this maybe everything I want in an ascender. What do you all think?

Casey Selner showcases his new Selner-Super-Sender hand ascender:

I dig this also.
I may be wrong, but it would be sweet if the loop was rated or strong enough to hang a revolver for MA.
Maybe it is, but I was under the impression it's just for storage on belt

Looks like throwline...my guess is, it would be safe for srt limb walks.

Looks cool, I'm gonna wait for Ocean's handbuilt ascender though. Futura works well in the meantime.

I grip the rope to steady myself as I ascend careful not to oversqeeze and exert more thans needed just to keep aligned..with the Haas useing my legs for the motor..wonder gloves on ascent are all ive felt necessary to guide myself up since useing knee ascender.. Cool compact handie idea though.

Hey guys there was a reason we went with the throw line. The biggest was liability. You wouldn't believe it but people were asking if that throw line was life support. Throw line!

There is still room to clip into the ascender portion with a locking revolver for those looking for 3:1 returns. Same can be done for foot loops.

I went through a couple proto types but went back to my original one. The bar stitching and hot knife finish it off well.

My guys love theirs. Both never used hand ascenders prior but have tried the main stream ones. Gave up the other ones because of bulk. The Super sender they use daily.

I think im gonna order one. I like it a lot and with a 50% loss of grip strength in my left hand it will hopefully slow the arthritis.
How or why the strength loss? I have a bit more due to a tendon rupture a year ago. The surgery to correct doesn't seem to be helping much. If I had to climb ddrt gut pull, I believe I'd be done for. Sucks getting old but I'm fighting it every step of the way.

I obliterated my left middle finger cutting someone out of an overturned car at the fire department. The knuckle is basically fused and the finger won't really bend. It's all crooked and crazy. Kinda gets in the way but workers comp said the couldn't cut it off. Had to repair it. Sorts gets in the way and if I ever have to clock somebody with my left hand it's gonna snap

Easier to grip with both hands? I wish my Futura were slightly fatter.
I had the Futura but didn't care for it, now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Futura for one hand? Does the other hand go on top? With the Super Sender you have two separate spots for your hands if you so choose.

What was the liability you speak of? This is to a guy who is not a splicer or rope engineer how would this be too much different than a eye to eye attached to the bottom with a larger cover sewn over it? Maybe I am missing something maybe I am just stupid.

To be honest not exactly sure. But if it is rated for life support it's a whole different world in terms of insurance to cover it. It was decided by luke, Nick and I to have a non rated (not for life support) loop. Besides there is still room to clip a fully rated biner directly into the ascender. That basic has the rating CE EN 567. Which from what I belive pulls until the cover slips.
