Selecting a TIP?

I want to apologize to everyone for asking the original question in a way that was apparently as annoying as hell. I was just trying to keep it generic. I thought it was a worthy topic.
 
davej - Don't apologise for asking a question. I'm a newbie to climbing and I make no bones about it. I read the title of your thread and thought "Good friggin question!" One of the reasons I originally came to this site was because I was told that it was a place to interact with and learn from experienced climbers, and it is.
Now that I have my climbing gear (bought on the advice of a fellow Buzzer) and finally get my butt in a tree, I'm sure I'm gonna have a ton of annoying newbie questions.
I suppose there will be some short or annoyed answers, but there will also be good, detailed ones and hopefully some debate mixed in to keep it interesting.

well said!anything that anybody needs help with just ask. if you truely need help thats is not annoying. obviously there is enough experience out here to help out. so with that said goodluck and move onward and upward, keep it safe
