Yes its a reliable fairly long lived species (250yrs), and yes the seeds are poisonous, despite being pretty viable we don't see massive communities of them. Branches have an unusual drooping tendancy increased by the great weight of numerous seeds...very attractive flowers...and even more attractive timber in older trees.
