It would need a fairly wide stitch width as well to hit the center of the rope on both sides of the eye, I would love to find a machine that could handle a sewn eye. I check Craigslist now and then hoping to get lucky.

Acquiring a machine that can handle sewn eyes is something on my wish list too.
(even 441 short arms (with a max stitch width of 11 mm) are outta my grasp)
