Safety Glasses

Just wanted to hear storage ideas for safety glasses. My eye protection is usually the first n last to be put on and taken off. They are normally kept in the cab and every time I put them on they have new scratches. Where do you guys store yours so they dont get trashed?

old socks for the extras I keep for kids, neoprene cases for mine. There's poly sleeves that double nicely as lense wipes. They don't provide as much protection though.

On the dashboard of the truck, lenses up, if I take them off before going into the house. Pretty much last thing off and first thing on, too.

They ride on the back of my neck if not on my face, such as while driving.

Otherwise, I'd use an old sock, maybe,

Outdoor retailers sell inexpensive glasses sleeves made of soft fabric, with a drawcord.

keep mine on the floor of the truck....they're $12 NASCAR shades, but I love em. Nice wide bug eye lenses. Getting harder to find these days though.

Mine are $275.00 prescription units.

They stay on my face from before the truck is started until after it's parked.

I've needed lenses since my schooldays, just can't understand why some need to take them off.

I,ve got clear ones, smoked ones, amber ones, mirrored ones, blue ones, all kind of ones.

Any optitian has cases for you if you're serious about your specs.

I've got leather ones, plastic ones, metal ones, all kind of ones.

I have to wear cheater to see up close. They aren't safety glasses but they, like my SGs hang on neck cords. Kinda like the librarian. The bows on my cheaters are so weak they'd break away before I'd get hurt. The SGs have weak cords or Croakie type lanyards. When I'm not wearing them they are nested inside my helmet with my gloves on top.

I Use these http://www.esseyepro.com/ICE-Tactical-Kit_151_detail.html with the prescription insert. I replace lenses about every 6 to 9 months at $14 or so a pop and they have been going strong for two years. Nice hard case included. Worth the money because of the superior protection and versatility.

I use the prescription insets about 10% of the time. They do make the glasses a bit heavier and sit close to my forehead, but when I need them I need them!!

I keep two very small bungee cords wrapped around the sun visor in the truck. I tuck my two pair of safety glasses under them (one clear, one tinted) so the cord rests between the lenses when I'm not wearing them. Don't know if this makes sense, but it's very handy. Keeps them accounted for and within easy reach, all the while protecting them from damage. I can't stand scratches. One scratch in my field of vision, and my glasses are in the trash.

i have a glasses bag inside my helmet. It is girth hitched to the webbing straps. The bag just rides in my helmet all the time.
