Saddles

Saddle X has a MASSIVE back pad on it. You'll like it if you spend all day leaning back while on spikes. I don't like it for all-around climbing.

Master II and Butterfly II are my faves.

Not me! Just looks a bit heavier than I prefer. I had some harnesses like that before. Nothing wrong with 'em, just tried something lighter and stayed with it.

My Bro has the same one, minus the shoulder straps. He doesn't look too comfy when he's in it though. /forum/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

good ole weaver lasted me longer than all my new stuff. Its lost in an old box somewhere in the shop. I should nail it on the wall next to craigs old bondage belt it deserves more respect. I'll get a picture tommorrrow of that ole bondage belt

I did add shoulder pads to mine.

Either a New Tribe/Ness saddle or the Butterfly2.

Both GREAT saddles. The saddle X does have a HUGE backpad. Dont know where your from but in CA. that saddle would never work-way way too hot and bulky.

What is interesting is saddles seem to come in two basic variations, step through (like the New Tribe or the B'fly1&2), or strap on types like the Weaver.
Some folks hate the thought of pulling up a saddle around their legs and up on to their hips. They would rather strap on a saddle like a tool belt. Not manly enough I guess to pull up a saddle around the hips.
Either way, you should try friends saddles on or go to a store that has a rope hanging from the roof. If you dont do this it is a crap shoot what you'll get.
Having said that I really like the B'flys and the New Tribe saddles but I have some folks working for me that would not be caught dead in one, Weavers all the way.
