IF you are using the FASTattach system with the BIGShot there is a chance the tailing ring will collide with the pouch and the wt will fall back towards the BIGSHOTer.
Always be positive the line will pay out free and double check you are not standing on your throwline pre release.
I recommend removing the FASTattach tool for use with the BS.
Because I modified my BS with a pull ball in place of the finger pull I was hit with my Rk. THe VInyl/rubber sleeve was on and the pull shot was for a 50 to 60 ft shot and I was not hurt in any way, actually not completely sure where I was hit and with what. Ring? RK?
Also if you decide to change the finger pull to a ball pull it is wise to keep it short as possible.
FASTattch is safe for hand throwing 1 or 2

No injury and not a biggie but just the same felt we should post this and see if anyone has anything to add.

Cheers

Sorry maybe I'm out of the the loop, but I'm unaware of the FASTattach tool and a few of your acronyms. Could you elaborate

if you use the right tools for the right jobs you will limit the chances of being hurt using the high balls are made for big shot i use 12 oz high ball with my big shot an ive got no isses hitting a dinner plate at a 100ft

Geometrically/aerodynamically speaking the RopeKnight is the right tool for the right job.
Hitting the dinner plate is most times the easiest part of the job, isolating TiPs, getting the wt to the ground and postioning the ropes is where most troubles can be overcome with a geometically correct tool.

Balls as projectiles, wts, bouys etc was abandoned centuries ago.

Balls are for rolling and bouncing.

Golf uses a ball because it has to roll and bounce
Football is coned because it has to spiral/fly

HighBall is a fair compliment to throwlining until it meets obstacles.
RopeKnight meets all our needs, Piercing the crown, bypassing twigs.limb, etc to get to the ground and back through the crown and smoothes the transition from throwline to access rope. etc.

A third option?
Do you mean the APTA, Xbow etc?
We could start another Poll. Ladder, Pole and progress climb,
throwlining,

I think most arbclimbers would aggree a high TiP as soon possible is the most effecient work climb. TCC work climb events for example.
Its all relative to the size, type of tree and the work being performed.

I have had jobs where I will bring the 40' ladder its rare but when I ahve its a blessing.
I ahve had jobs that the best is to just climb the tree because its a ladder in itself.
But most of my work requires throwlining and that is the reason I need the tools I need. Rk, BS, etc.

This is my opinion and you can take it how you want to but..

I wouldn't throw it or shoot it.
I would use it for isolation and rope installation.
I can usually shoot a throw ball over about any tree I come across- literally over and the ball comes down.

Then I could switch over to the RK and work the line into the tree.

By reducing the impact loads it would receive by not hurling it into the air it could be redesigned w/o the screw I've read about making it easier to do what it appears to be best at. I think Nick and others that used it may have suggested ditching the screw for another design.

But since I haven't bought or used one I'm just guessing.
I can see you've put a tremendous amount of work into this thing and I respect that.

Thanks Fernhorn
With a bit of practice and information I will let most anyone throw it.
My apprentice Luke throws it most times for me now and recently the developer I worked for threw it to lead multiple removal efforts.
To go from a throw bag of metal to an all metal throw wt is quite an easy transition with the rewards well worth the initial effort and investment.

The geometric form, the finish etc is a winner. all the other wts on the market want to be a rocket or a bullet.
The RK is the first to do this and turn it into a multitool.

Thanks for sharing your viable solution to provide an alternative or mid-point tool that would help arbclimbers with the transition from bag to RK.
Cheers

Knot yet!
Spring rush of work and the backlog from rains has
put a hold on it.

Mine will need a special barrel/effort to accomodate the Vinyl and Foam protective sleeves
Working on it.
