People that have theirs, have u had any issues with the Allen key stripping in the bollard? There’s a Instagram gram post about it stripping the first time using for a poor fella. Hopefully it was just a fluke.

The bollard adjustment bolt does come 'tight' from the factory. I couldn't budge mine with the short-handled allen key that came with it. I just used a longer one, no problems after that using the supplied key.

All of this impatience has finally gotten my dander up enough for me to make one comment on the matter. Does anyone remember how, just a few years ago, when you ordered something, you mailed an order form out of a paper catalog to an address with a check inside, and got ecstatic when your order showed up four weeks later? Back when all the catalogs said “Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery”? And when it takes almost a whole week to get the latest newfangled gadget delivered today, everyone starts to go ape?

And maybe include return postage in the form of stamps? Or have to go get a money order to send in as payment? And you waited forever for the new catalog to arrive?

I'm having a hard time envisioning using spurs 'and' a 3:1 at the same time.

In the pic I just drew you've got a high point in the middle, but you can't just pendulum out on the other trunks, you'd be too low, so as you spur up you tighten the rope, on DRT thats as easy as a little tug on the tail every step or two. on SRT you have to lean more and pull tail up with both hands usually to adjust it so you're not going to the underside and you're level with the trunk still, the flipline holds you on the trunk but it doesn't stop you rotating around to the underside if you're climbing up the side of the trunk instead of the top (which I often do so my lifeline isn't behind me). On SRT I like putting a hand ascender with a pulley on it so I can easily tension up the line as I spur up a bit further. Other photo is a situation I'd usually use it as I'm spurring, though I believe I'm actually on double rope there.

Interesting. I normally don't climb like that. When I'm on spurs, I tend to use my climbing line more as a safety and not so much for support when moving. I will do that for work positioning, but that doesn't require a 3:1.

They were and are very tight. Seem to have something on the threads that helps keep them tight!
I got a couple small climbs on mine this evening and initial thoughts are positive.
Love the fact that it goes on and off the rope so easily. The bird is much more hand friendly! I still need to work on adjustments to fine tune it. Reminds me of the original runner brand new.

So i've got #154 in hand. Nice work @treebing Happy I could support you and what you stand for. Question: The manual notes a lubrication port. I can't find anything of the sorts. Anybody? Yes I have already talked to somebody who striped out the allen wrench and a little on the bollard

Nice, enjoy!

You sneaky dog! You keeping things from me huh?

Here is a user checkpoint. This is a snap shot from the RRPs users instructions. The referenced 'lubrication port' does not exist on the one I received. Furthermore, what little lube was used before shipping, if there even was any, dissipated quickly. Audible squeaks and a scratchy feeling movement appeared quickly.

Instructions call for 3-in-one mineral oil. I used a high quality bicycle chain lubricant instead, applied at both top and bottom pivot point openings of the spine. That made a world of difference.

Perhaps in the rush to get them to market they forgot to drill the port!! Maybe TS will
Just send me another one with the properly drilled lube port!!

I have been officially authorized to notify everyone that we have just issued a total recall on the first batch of Rope Runner Pro's due to the lack of a lubrication port hole. We apologize for any inconvenience and mental duress this has caused anyone (except dsptech). We can assure you that we will be issuing a refund as quickly as possible (less shipping and restocking fees of coarse).
