I received a new rope runner and gave it a go today. I'm using velocity, 11mm rope. How do you adjust the runner so it tends easier. I pullef, and pulled and its really stiff, then BAM tons of slack all at once. This only happened with all my weight on it, when I walked a limb, with less weught, it wax quite as bad. It's really stuff on decent as well, bug I did live climbing on it, tended nicely. Do I loosen the bollard at the bird? The other thing is I'm new to SRT, it's working the crap our of my arms, about as much as DRT. I don't have a chest harness, I think I've seen people bring their lanyard over the shouldet/ around their back, and clip that? ??? To hold them.in tight to rope? Love some help as I know theirs physical benefits to SRT over SRT. But I define don't look very smooth waking up the rope, I'm very clunky, mechanical looking

I'm assuming you are using a SAKA and a foot ascender. Make sure you are taking small steps, like walking up stairs. A chest harness or over the shoulder is required for sure, I like the @swingdude harness myself. It will take practice and time to adjust your body weight to a more centered position when ascending. The tending attachment of your choice will help but it does not correct bad form. To help in the beginning send your saw up or try practicing with an empty saddle. You're trying to get your muscle memory down. One trick I used was to concentrate on keeping my ear next to the rope, by default your body will follow your head.

I got off the RR months ago so I can't really help with that part.

No SAKA, I was using left pantin and a hand ascended with a foot loop, which I'm sure isn't the smoothest
I have a HUT as well. When bringing the lanyard over the shoulder, whereally do I attach it in the front? To my bridge ring? I'm guessing I should aquire a knee ascender

I have found that attaching the chest harness/lanyard to the bridge ring works best for me. Open the bird up all the way like Kevin said. Also when new they are terrible, I hated mine... Until I lent it to a friend. He spent a week on in and it was fine. I tried it when he gave it back and haven't looked back. I almost sold it to him! Be patient with it and it will come around. Did you get the bump to replace the lower end friction plate?
