Rope bridge with Alpine Butterfly as SRT tie in point, thoughts.

So here is a thought, let me know your thoughts. If I put 2 bridges on my saddle and tied an Alpine Butterfly in one could I reap the benefits of both systems. Single central tie in when I want it and/or standard rope bridge setup when I want that. All of this in one harness setup always ready not matter what the tree throws my way. Genius or insane....you decide.

Just do 2 bridges without the alpine, I don't see any advantage of putting a knot in it, it's going to prevent the bridge from equalizing when you get into any position other than straight vertical. I run a second bridge though and it is great to have in a lot of situations.

Hey Frank, I do something a little like that ...

I use the Buckingham Spreader Snaps across the forward Ds. The dual snaps act as a SRT "hard bridge" with a center tie-in hole.

It's get my attachment lower, it's more efficient than a rope bridge that alternately compresses and releases the my saddle/body, and it's more comfortable in suspension. Adds about a pound, tho.

That setup puts a Unicender at just the right height to be a chest ascender ...
passive no flop
captive position autotends (top clips to my arrest harness)
mid-line attachable
efficient
very fast reversal for emergency bail out.

I use this for access, not working the tree. If I want, it all snaps off when I go ddrt.
