What do you guys carry for standard rigging kits?

We don't get to preview 99% of our jobs so we show up with: 2 372s, 2 200Ts, 2 150' 1/2" stable braid rigging lines, 1 10' 3/4" whoopie, 1 port-a-wrap, 1 cmi stainless steel 5/8" block and a few assorted 1" nylon loop slings with biners.

We don't have alot of monster trees usually 50'-75' trees so its alot of small cutting and pitching. Just like to know what others are taking out as s.o.p?

I mostly use a rigSAVER and old climbing lines, but I have a bunch of X-rigging ring slings and 1/2" SB /5/8" bull lines I use too.

the trees i usually deal with sound similar is size, not many huge trees. but in order to safely take bigger pieces out without wondering how close to WLL we were getting (using True Blue 1/2 lines), my co worker bought a stien RC 2000, and we got a 150' 9/16s line. we hold a lot of heavy loads, on big limbs we are swinging, and occasionally catch loads which isnt ideal, but the size pieces we take dont leave much room to let the line run.

But we dont do much limb walking anymore other than tying rigging lines and do a lot less cutting. and makes more work for which ever one of us is on the ground ha

I'd like to follow the 3 ring rule Xman has. I want to use 5/8" tenex 2 large xrr then girth a medium on for setting and retrieving the medium ring would be smaller lighter cordage mostly there for installation and bend letting the 2 large rings take the weight. does that sound fairly reasonable?

Also 2 x-large xrr (beast) is it ok to use the 2 instead of 3 rings?

KevinS did you ever get to see the “test to destruction” XRR video that David had up and took down at one point? I feel sorry for anyone who wants to do intelligent rigging and was not able to see that. Hopefully David will put it back up at some point. Three rings were taking such huge weights that it adds a feeling of security to my work when I am using them having those pictures in the back of my mind.

Two rings? I don’t know, three are so light and easy I won’t be tempted to find out.

The bend radius of 2 XRR beast rings exceeds that of most any other tool arborists use to interface with rope, except for some oo the large bollard style friction brakes.

i have learned over the years that good rigging materials and various types of setup makes your daily job easier and safer. Still got some wishes for next christmas to even complete my "standard" kit even more ;-)
