Retrievable redirects - Fact or Fiction?

Just wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions/ideas on how or if you can use retievable redirects, whilst clibing on one end of your rope?

yes they're possible, however most of the time they're more work than they are worth.

I made up one as nick described last year and have only used it once; which was just to see if it worked. Not worth it in my opinion...

Mark, if you don't mind, I'd be interested also. Would you ming sharing your idea?

Nick, I searched the site and don't see anything on Mark's invention under "re-direct".

There are several ways to retrieve redes from the ground. I do it all the time. The system Tom is refering to is called the M system it works really well for work positioning and getting back to your tie in point. I also re de just by placing the standing end of my rope through a natural union.

I don't mind at all Charlie. What I do is unclip my eyesplice. I then run it through a krab or pulley on my harness. Then up and through my redirect crotch and back to the harness. This way you have one rope, one knot and two tie-in pts. Also, you can pull the line out of the redirect anytime you want and go back to your main tie-in. Sound simple enough? I called it the "M" style because the rope looks like an m when you're in it and also since my name starts with that. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
