Replacing Rings on Sequoia with Shackles

I know I've seen this question posed before, just can't seem to find it.

Am thinking about replacing the anodized rings on my sequoia with some Witchard locking shackles. Aside from not being factory approved as a mod, what are your thoughts?

Anyone try it yet? What were your results?

Which shackles are they? on a miller butterfly/dragonfly they have 8mm bow shackles.

I use 10mm shackles for a number of things, and heres a picture of my skeleton lanyard with a shackle in place of a pulley.
You do need to check them regular, if there is no thread lock, and turn them real tight with a lever of somekind, I use a chainsaw file if nothing else is about.

Haven't tried, what are you thinking to gain? The rings are such excellent hubs for the bridge and harness connections, would be interesting to know what you're after.

Mine are simply due for replacement and frankly I don't like the Petzl design for the rings is all.

Also, I'd like to use a rope bridge as opposed to the nylon webbing strap. I just bought a rope bridge made for the sequoia but lo-and-behold, my old rings have too small a gap to get the rope to go through.
