Remote SRT re-direct

I don't know if I am covering old ground here?
I crown cleaned a large plane tree today. Lots of re-directs as I had to get right to the bottom of the very droopy branches. The tree was still wet from the rain and wasn't dissimilar from a bar of soap.
Usually an SRT re-direct can go very high and it makes work positioning dreamy. It is tricky sometimes to follow the route back. There may be a moment when full weight is applied to a delicate top.
The remote system is set much lower down, somewhere that a lanyard can be safely used. The remote line is thrown to desired point, retrieved and clipped with a revolver onto main line, above unicender. Then slacked off main line is pulled up to desired point and tied off, taking load forces into account, with a cow hitch.
Work is done then climber returns to initial set-up point and dismantles re-direct.
I will try and post a picture now! (technophobe)

The pic may not work for pc's.

Good idea, looks like it would work well if you had the extra rope with you. Have you ever tried it with the tail end of your climb line - assuming you have enough rope.

Interesting idea. You would really have to watch how your loading the stem. I edited your picture to show how your second line is loading the redirect. If you were to tie it off as i showed with the yellow line. You've changed the way your loading the stem to along its strongest point.

Why not just put a throw weight on your line and throw a bight through the branch union. This way it loads the stem along the strongest point and its retrievable when you come back in? Different strokes for different folks but to me it seems line your over complicating things and adding unnecessary gear.

Just a couple different ideas.

I always climb with enough guesstimated tail for two re-directs so for this example I would fall short using a bight or my tail. I used some 8mm double braid, about 10m of it and it coils up to nothing on the back of my harness.
Countryboy, I think that this may help when compressing slender vertical stems. I realise that forces are multiplying but it's cool that we can move them in different directions when needed. An opposing force is sometimes needed as you know.
Yes, it's a big tree, I scanned the photograph....!

Another way to accomplish this would be to toss your weighted tail main line through the redirect crotch and start pulling it through. Clip your light line to the formed loop before you release it then finish tightening. This will load the crotch properly and still allow you to retrieve your line for the return trip.

Why not take the tail of your line and double crotch, tieing in traditionaly. Keep it simple.

SRT climbing keeps it simple!!
I'd need an extra long rope as my working end is tailored for the climb and a cambium saver AND it would mean that I have to climb back up ddrt.

I don't wanna do that.
