the nerdy climber stuff starts around 12 and it gets into "rewind, pause, rewind, scratch head, rewind" territory shortly after.

I learned so much from this man. Somehow he still comes up with new spins I just don't see in my zip code.

Also some peeks at his mulitcender device which seems to click like a fishing reel. I'm going to buy one.

expert professional, pretty cool to watch and learn from.

Ok….I think I get it.

I don’t got it.

Ok, now I think I got it, the crab for attaching the rope to the log strap is not at the end, but attached to a friction hitch which can be moved up and down the bull rope to provide a tail for use as a tag line.

Clever, I guess you’re messing with load limits but on light rigging like that it’s not an issue.
I don’t know what the pulley is doing though.

I dont either, seems overkill. ive seen him use the technique in other videos and the tagline goes limp after cutting so i assume thats it

My guess is the pulley makes for slightly easier adjustment of the hitch up and down the rope.

At 19:57 he uses another pulley apparently as a swing limiter plus as rope retrieval aid.

Haha we are bothering to analyze a 2 y o tree vid so I guess that is proof positive that Reggie is next level.

Trying not to blow too much smoke but he brings to mind a Zen master at work.

Indeed that was one gnarsty azz tree job.

The only part that confuses me still is where he puts his genitals when he's climbing. I assume he has devised a method for detaching them, because I don't see how he would have much room to work otherwise.

Seeing that cool looking Madrone had me feeling a yearning for the real PNW.

Does anyone know what this technique is called? It's like a one legged span rig saving that extra 1/3 of rope length. Next chance I get, that's what I'm going to use it for.
