Rec. Climbing Traverses (Rocky is at it Again

Location

Well though I would love to get some good work shots, my boss wouldn't be quite to happy to show up on the job and I am filming. So I desided to put this up from a rec. climbing I did with some of the guys from TreeClimbing.com. Each traverse was about 30 foot give or take.
Hope you all like.
And Ekka I need you as a commentator, I sure do love that accent.

You will wave to watch 1 30 sec. commercial while it loads. Sorry.

And as always no trees were harmed in the making of this video.

Cool, and what a treat to video that in a tree with no leaves. What sort of tree is that?

Also, I'd hate to see how much stuff you'd take with you on a work climb. /forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Now what would be good is to take footage aloft, get the cameraman up there. I'm sure I saw another climber in the adjacent tree toward the start of the vid.

Some limb walking demo's, some more flying vids and setting re-directs, some dual lifeline positioning and traversing ... yeah, cool.

I cannot even think of a tree that large here that loses it's leaves. About the biggest deciduous we got but hopeless for that sort of stuff is the Liquid Amber (Gum Ball Tree) and the eucs have way way less branches and seldom close enough together in our parks to do that.

Good show

The tree I was in was an American Beech as well was the one the first traverse was to. The second traverse was to some sort of hickory. The beechs were about 90 foot and the hickory was probally around 65.

Actually was just talking to someone about making some tip and trick videos of climbing and all. It is always easier to practice things when your not in a hurry to prune or anything. You get to try a few things and step things up for fun then apply to work. Hell, if there was a such a think a "Sleep Climbing", I would sure hope I would get it.
