Rayco chippers?

hey all, just wondering if any of you have good experiences with rayco chippers. were looking at upgrading our woodsman 12x to a bigger machine. we do alot of excavator grapple fed logs and really need a planetary drive system since replacing the key on the woodsmans hydro motor twice this year. what are you likes and dislikes about rayco? what servicing the machine like?

What about the Terex 750HD, assuming you're still wanting a hand fed chipper. The HD infeed increases it to an 18" capacity, with planetary gear boxes on the feed wheel.

I have a customer that's replacing his 15X with a 750HD for the very same reason (shearing keys).

Obviously I'm biased, but at the trade show I wasn't a Terex dealer. While there, I talked at length with a Rayco guy. He said their chippers were one of their least performing products. Actually he said their chippers suck, but I'm trying to make it sound better. I didn't go into detail with him on the matter, as we talked a little about everything.

I just ordered a 750 hd fully loaded I'll try and keep you informed on what I think about it if your intested. It's very similar to the 770 with smaller engine options. Very good pricing when compared to others. Get one soon I heard they are running low on t3 engines I put the 160hp Cummins the biggest the offered in that machine. The weight of the 750 is what sold me under 8k pounds and chips 18 inch.

my rayco 1220 has been a good chipper. it will take 14 inch pine but i try not to push it that often. there were a few issues with it when i first got it that had to be worked through. primarily the cutter wheel positioning bolt on the belt side was way undersized. a little welder time and a bigger bolt squared that away. other than that it impresses me how well it will crush brush and throw chips. it would pack my 14' chip body with ease before i shortened it.
