Radioactive trees

This is something that I never thought about. Let's hope that the firefighters are well-protected, but it seems not

What might happen if/when these trees are harvested?

Trees are planted on waste sites to remediate soil toxins which is commendable. The catch...what happens when years from now those trees need pruning/removal and the toxins are in the trees/chips/dust...oops!

Are these toxins sequestered in the tree's wood in the same form or are they broken down?

From what I understand they're sequestered not broken down

Wouldn't they be sequestered until decomposed or burned?

In one brown field remediation plan they said that the trees would be removed and taken to a hazmat burning furnace. Similar to where pcbs oil is burned or to a hazmat dump

Even in a brownfield I wouldn't be doing any chipping. I guess it would depend on what the toxins are though

What kind of superpowers do you thinks a radioactive tree guy would have? I don't think it'd be worth it if I ended up with roots. I like to travel too much.
