question about cabling paper birch

I was wondering if anyone wanted to give me some advice on cabling a 5 stemmed paper birch. This birch has a wire of some sort that is badly girdling one stem and mildly on the others. Its wrapped all around the 5 stems. I'm not sure but it appears that it has helped the tree stand, probably not though as it is not rated wire.

This would be my first cabling job other than one dynamic cable I installed. I could really use some advice on what and where to buy as far as threw bolts or lags and size. The tree is only 25 feet tall and each stem is about 1 foot dia.

I'm thinking a non-invasive steel cable might be a good option. I think I only need to install one cable, but might need more after I take another look.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

With a small birch such as this I would suggest going non invasive dynamic. Birches are very prone to whiplash when installing steal hardware. I think I would use Cobra and go one size larger than the recommended size to account for how fast the birch grows. Then make sure the owner understands that there is maintenance plan that goes with the support system. Good luck
