Prusik cord type

I like the design of the grizzly-spliced 9mm samson prusik cord. I am thinking of making my own but with knots instead of grizzly-spliced. Out of the accessory cords in the sherrill catalogue, which is best to make a prusik cord for footlocking?

I use Tenex--very cheap, easy to splice (I know, you said you'd tie knots, but still). If you actually load it, you probably have to replace it because it burns easily, but how often does anyone actually use a prussik for anything but backup? I don't actually know if Sherrill sells it, but I bet they do.

Just make sure you get rated stuff. "Accessory cord" often means cheap rope that is only good for tying down loads or other non-life-support applications.
