Pruning webinar w/ Ed Gilman 5/11/16

I caught one of his pruning seminars a few years ago. Totally blew my mind and I've been using his techniques whenever possible with great success. There's a time and a place for this type of pruning, especially in eastern Ontario where the growing season is rather short, but I've drastically changed the growing patterns of many silver maples, ginkgos, red oaks (hearty species with a strong apical dominance). I sell it hard on trees under 15 yrs but have had great success on mature trees that have an established structure favorable to this type of pruning. Arguably the best tool in my pruning toolbox.

The comment exactly Echoes the German standard. That kind of stuff is not mentioned in the US standard. It's a shame the A300 committee does not widen their scope of inquiry to look across the Atlantic. Or… Pacific

Thanks Guy,

Purchased finally. It had been on the back burner since you referenced it in Bend. I think it only benefits a practice to look to other cultures of practice. The arborist can then draw conclusions based on more information.

30 minutes in I couldn't listen anymore. I tried but found it overly flawed. Both scientifically and in approach.
Worth taking another look at?
I may. Not
