Prius - Sales Vehicles - Wraps

We've decided we're going to be purchasing a couple of Toyota Prius' to replace our current gas guzzling pickups as our sales vehicles. Was interested in input from anyone here who has done the same. Also wondered if anyone here had had their prius wrapped or anything cool to spiff it up for advertising. If so would you mind sharing pics and experiences. Good or bad.

In 2008 we changed out our three F150s used strictly for sales with two Prius' and a hybrid Honda Civic.

As one of the salesmen, my territory is the largest geographically. I put on an average of 750 miles per week, around 40K per year.

My 2006 F150 got around 17mpg. My 08 Prius gets 45mpg.

With gas at $2.75, I'm using 28 less gallons per week, 112 less per month, and so on. Estimated yearly fuel savings in dollars: $3700.

Those are just my numbers, we have two other sales guys that drive about half of my mileage per year.

I bought a Honda Fit. 40 MPG. Soooo much better than a truck although there are many times that i have to send someone to a nursery to pick up something i can't fit. Pun intended.

Clients think that it's very smart, it gives the company a super great image. Some people may find it intimidating when a dude rolls up in a truck.

I think that more people notice stickers on a car rather than a truck. A bit more unexpected.

Talk to the guys from Limbwalker in Kentucky. They brought their little car to Michigan last year for the tree comp and it was wrapped. Looked pretty B.A. in my opinion.

We have a Honda Fit and a Prius. Our graphic designer and Cory's wife, Jen, came up with our designs and we hired a guy who moonlights in vinyl application to put them on. Word to the wise: Hire a graphic designer. That is one of the best "happy accidents" that ever happened to us. Jen is amazing and is the only person we go to when we need something to look good. She even designs our fax cover sheets!

Someday I plan on doing the same thing. I have seen a wrapped smart car for a business and it looked awesome! I agree people don't expect advertisements on cars

couldnt agree more. I hired on my buddy a couple months back to get me set up with the works. T shirts, signs, business cards, word orders, everything. Now we are working on a wrap design for the tailgate of my truck/back window (my truck is versatile, it brings home the money, the groceries and drive us out to dinner. The last thing i want it to do is look like a work truck)

I'd love to see some pics of the prius or fit! I'm not the most creative fellow out there so it always helps to see what others have done and then tweak it to make it my own....

Currently debating whether to buy the 2010 or wait another month or two for the 2011 to come out.....

We recently bought a Toyota Prius to drive around to look at jobs. I love it. It gets about 50 mpg and its exellent for our sales vehicle because we rarely found ourselves towing when we used an F150 as a our sales vehicle. We just have the company magnets. The pic is in our facebook.

I currently use our Kia Optima. It's fuel milage is certainly better than a truck, but it is now where close to a Prius.

I like the novelty factor of the Smart Car. The fuel mileage is similar to a Prius. I'm on a waiting list to test drive a Smart Electric Drive. But, the range on the electric isn't appealing.

A Smart car wrapped would be sweet.

Im going to convert an 83 mercedes diesel to a grease car. my friends run a grease refinery for bio diesel so the fuel supply would be limitless and I could be oh so classy rolling up to bid jobs!

I get a few comments & stares.

People stop and ask for business cards at the petrol station & in car parks.
Got asked for one loading the groceries just last night actually!

If you've got vehicles on the road all day they may as well be a mobile billboard, cheap advertising in my opinion.

That's Chris Cowell on the side, image courtesey of Teufelberger!
