Principles

Yesterday I was watching the movie "Murder in the First" with Christian Slater and Kevin Bacon. A gripping story and performances by both.

At one point a women attorney asked Slater if he could comprimise. Slater turned and said, "On strategies, but not on principles!"

I had to get a pen and paper to write that down. To me, this is how I look at tree pruning. There are things that can be done in many ways. If a client asks me to do something that doesn't fit the best for the tree, they're asking me to comprimise. I need to hold to my principles.

I agree with what you are saying. If i get asked by a client to carry out any private tree work & they ask for a lets say 50% reduction i will advise that the most you can remove at any one time is 30% & stick by it.
If they dont like it they can find another contractor to carry out the work.

i guess that is not only climbing strong, but walking strong.

i kinda accidentally misspell that as the princi-pals fer the times such things have stood by me whether of this personal fibre, actions of motion etc. Kinda like standing in the framework of a certain power dynamic and understanding the rules; going with, rather than against....

Or something like that....
