I think it could do away with the throwline if you could afford a 100' carbon fiber pole. It's the kind of thing I wish I'd thought of. Maybe with a short pole for tip tieing balanced horizontals. Speed up rigging a little.

What we need is the lightest biggest toughest with a swivel just to install throwline. Could do way more from the ground. Maybe have the pull side inline with the handle.

Do you think that tele pole would be stiff enough to 'push' the clip?

Even with 6' glass pole saw sections they start to bow after using three sections. The weight gets to be too much too.

Looks cool for open spaces. Any snagging on branches might likely dislodge the free floating piece. Seems that the tension on the rope holds it in place on the way up, and hook and rope tension on the way down.

Would be cool if its real-world useful for us.

the longest on I could find was 48'. was that what you meant? I think a 21' Silky pole would work for most applications.

That was just the first website I found. They say you can join their 48' to a 36'. Those are expensive and for windows. Would they make it a week with tree work? Here's a $12000 mountain bike with even stiffer lighter more expensive carbon fiber.

I think the folks at Silky are the people we need to bird-dog this. I see no reason (because of the light-duty nature of this gizmo) why the Silky Hayate telescoping pole shouldn't have another three, smaller, sections added to it. That would put it's total length at somewhere around 35 ft. If they added another length to the bottom/outside, we're at about 40. I could place a lot of climbing or rigging lines if I could reach 40 ft. Add a 12ft orchard ladder to the mix and that's even more. Couldn't do everything, of course, but I'm ready to pop on this idea.
