Powers spur scender

So psyched!

Look like they belong there, right? Can't wait to kick the tires on these. Why has it taken so long for someone to do this?

Just caught up on this thread and realized how 'behind the times' I am! I have yet to combine foot ascender with spurs! Gonna try it next time I bust them out. I'm lucky if I use them twice a week, srt has changed the way I look at removals (spikeless) and I will be taking photos to compare to others. Now I guess I'm hoping for a removal...

Had a chance last week to use my new Climb Right spurs equipped with the Powerscender. Not only was it the removal of two Locust but it turned out to be an ideal use for the ascender. The Locusts were recently dead (one season) long enough for them to start to shed thier bark and the wood underneath was like steel. This, combined with the new spurs (which weren't the gaff angle I'm used to) made for unsure footing. However, with a high TIP in an adjacent Tulip, my Bone was tended every step of the way! Any slip of the gaffs resulted in me not moving down an inch, held fast by a well tended overhead climb line and my flip line. The second tree required me to ascend the Tulip and traverse through a Sweet Birch, so I put the gaff guards back on and Haas'd my way up, made it to the Locust, set a redirect, walked down to cut some lower limbs, then, Powerscended my way back to the top and finished business. I don't see how the job couldn't have gone any better thanks to the Powerscender, Swing Chestie, and Bulldog Bone! The modern climber, thanks Mike, Paul, and Gordon!

And, when the rain stops... another review of the product is forthcoming... :)

Thanks, Mike, for the fast turnaround on a nice product. I didn't even have time to miss the money, and here it is, already.

Did a few removals with the powerspurcender.Love It! Thanks Mike! Really nice even for just tending while stepping up on the tree if your not walking up the rope. Didn't even notice it . just there when I wanted it. Before I had this setup if I was spiking up I'd clip the tail of my line on a acc biner on leg strap of treemotion so as to not stab my line by keeping it out from between my legs . This setup works well for that but the line doesn't fall through the climbing device as well then because the wieght is redirected ,but the spurcender solved all that b.s. making for safer , faster ascents. And if you don't want to.stick to the tree its perfect! No more footie under shank getting all jacked up inside my foot. The 6061 conformed well to my bucklites. Yet seems very much rigid enough to endure some good abuse.Really can't thank Mike enough! P.s. his shipping speed rivals TreeStuff.

I gotta figure a way to get that haas attachment on my spurs, thing looks sweeeet.

We had some storms here, Mac, and I had to make a quick trip to a nearby town to get a limb off a roof. It was still attached to the tree (green wood, tore badly) so I got a chance to try the Powerscender setup out. I use the SAKA, not the HAAS, but same setup, really. That clip on the left spur was the bomb, man. No more leaving the footstrap on the boot/spur and worrying about the wear and tear on it, and the crowded arrangement. Easy on and off, and no more spiking my own leg wrestling with unclipping it from the footstrap webbing while hanging off the rope. Stupid simple, crazy effective. Love it.

Ahhhh, it's always nice to hear good things. Thanks : ) I use the thing so often that I would be a little lost without it. I really think more and more people will be using some variation of this. It just makes sense.

It is a simple tool/adapter design, yet makes life much easier for the tree worker. It's always there, just waiting for you when you're in a pinch. It says "hey man, your forearms are on fire. Let me give you a helping foot"

Still looking for screws Mike. I talked to my best vendor today, he has found some odd stuff before for me. I even emailed K from my work email to see if they would share there vendor's name for a project I had in work, they politely declined. Hope my last guy will come through.

For srtwp when trees require spurs once more people start to embrace this no doubt spurcender is righteous!! I will say Ive put a hurting on the powerscender sticker haha . Luckily the supplier hooked it up with rebuild kit and some sweet add ons for me bdb which I have yet to find time to fiddle with.

ML, thanks for your help and effort. Hopefully we'll find something. I got shut down by K as well....but hoping that Luke at Treestuff pulls a rabbit out of the hat on this issue for me. Amazing that it's so difficult to find some bolts nowadays, with the World Wide Web and all. I guess you just need to know where to look. Again, I appreciate the helping hand.
