Powers spur scender

Besides the people I have already spoken to, I am going to be taking a break from making these. Should be available online sooner than later :tanguero:

Damn it! I just came on here to contact you about buying one and read this.

I guess if I'm not fast, I'm last!
Boo!

If you do have one left over please let me know and I'll have it. I use alloy Distels.
Thanks
Al.

Guys, I need a helping hand.

Treestuff sent the Powerscender to a few people to test it out. One guy said that it would not grab consistently.

In my own experience, I have not had this happen at all, not even once did it "slip" and has always grabbed consistently. But I have an open mind, so......

It would be very helpful if you guys could tell me if you have had any experiences like this. Any and all comments or reviews would be great. I want to make sure my product is helpful to people.

Thanks so much.

Mine has also never slipped or not grabbed. Oddly I've had my CT foot ascender (left foot) slip before on Escalator but have never experienced this with my Powerscender (CT left foot backwards on the right spike)... weird.

It's a conspiracy, I tell you. There must be a secret handshake or a magic word or something that they're not telling us about. I'm going to try "SEND ME FREE SHIT" for a coupon code on my next order and see if that works.

Jeff, your ascender ever slip on you?

No, Mike... I don't recall it ever doing that. When I use it on the KM MAX rope, which is pretty slick, I have to take a little smaller steps and more care keeping the rope fairly straight and underneath me, but I think that's just the nature of that rope. It's a 32-strand with a nylon core. Just feels a little strange coming from one of the other ropes to that one, so it's probably just me being paranoid. Still, I don't think it has ever actually slipped, the rope still looks new with none of the fray damage you'd expect if it slipped.

You can't predict what oddball ropes the CT ascender will slip on, and I can't see it having anything to do at all with how it is mounted. Some folks will complain if you give them a free bar of solid gold... "It's kinda dull, not shiny enough!" or maybe he put it on upside down... tell TS that the information is useless unless they can tell you which rope it slipped on. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you get a lot of complaints. They can all slip, if you're not careful. Especially if you do what I did the other day and forget to close the cam down onto the rope. That first step onto it will wake you up.

I was thinking it may have something to do with the rope as well. When the ascender is on your foot with straps, it can move all over the place and still grab just fine. Didn't make much sense to me but I had to ask you dudes in case I was missing something.

Nope not one slippage since I got it from you in March Mike! I climb on Yale blue tongue and Samson vortex, and arbor master. Performs flawlessly!

I wonder if that has anything to do with that rope diameter being almost at the max of the foot ascenders potential. Maybe less teeth to grab with the cam wide open.

Thanks for all your input so far guys.
