Powers spur scender

Mike, if you look at the middle picture in the link you posted you can see the two ridges on either side of the gaff.

I dont think the originals have those ridges.

You are correct. Thanks for bringing this to my attention @treegongfu. I had Treestuff give the combination a try without success. So the Powerscender does not work for the DMM version of the Gecko's.

Thanks Mike. Regrettably that is what i thought or i would've asked you for a them a while ago.

I think a spacer to fill in to the ridge level would work but would also make the spurs stick out too far.

Maybe a spacer in combination with pole gaffs would be equivalent to the length of tree gaffs.

Treestuff may want to mention the lack of compatibility on there list.

I had them update it already : )

I had the same idea about the spacer and wondered about how far the gaff would stick out as well. Still might be worth a try.

Mike, do you know if the spurs and screw spacing is the same between the dmm version and the regular distels? I think they are the same but just want to make sure.

I believe they are. I know that the pole gaffs and tree gaffs are the same configuration for sure. I would find it hard to believe they changed the gaffs completely for the DMM version, as they only sell replacement gaffs in general for Distel.

I emailed Treestuff to make sure and will relay the message when I find out.

I heard back already....that was quick. Yes the gaffs are the same.
Luke must have so much stuff on his floor that he cant leave and all he can do is answer emails as soon as they come in![emoji39]

Thanks Mike,

So as far as i can tell, if i order the Powercender for the distels, make a simple aluminium spacer plate, find longer screws, and order the pole gaffs i should be alright. As the pole gaffs are an 2" and the tree gaffs 3" ill end up with gaffs approximately half an inch shorter.

Sounds good to me.

Will you have the ability to try both pole and tree spikes? Yeah that sounds about right to me.

If for some reason you have to order longer screws (the ones that come with the Powerscender may work out okay for you), they are M8 - 1.25

I will if i order the pole gaffs which i plan on because with the addition of a spacer and the spurcender plate i think ill be adding almost a half inch in length.

Hi Mike,

I made a spacer plate and installed the powerscender as soon as they arrived today. I`m excited to try them out!

The Powerscender is beautifully made.

I`ll provide more details later tonight.
