Personally I can't stand power point anymore. It's boring and makes it too easy to produce a boring slides how. I'm not saying my pp presentations are boring, I'm saying other peoples are.

Before you get carried away learning how to make bullet points swoosh in from the side in po try a program called prezi. Is web based and surprisingly easy to use. You can make presentations that are somewhat three dimensional. I think that its easier than pp.

Keep it short and sweet.
Less is more
Stay focused on the message/theme
Have fun.
Positive in words and colours etc
I had a quick look at Prezi I am a bit apprehensive, unfounded, not sure why.
Try to avoid busy fonts, sounds and animations or use them sparingly.

It took me quite a long time to get to our final PPt. Self taught and easily distracted I am.

I started on paper with a few words about the final message or basically your title in the centre of the paper in landscape view and from their connect all the main bullets or balloons of everything that needs to be communicated. Spider web of thought and points and organize after this brainstorming session.

At the end you have the foundation for your Presentation.

If you have any other questions just holler.
Hope I helped.

There are some really good tutorials on PP. I've gotten great tips on how a good presentation should look. Then, learning how to make that happen is the next step.

You already know how to prune trees which is similar to doing a presentation. Using PP is similar to buying a saw. It doesn't make a difference to your client which saw/program you use, use it the right way.

Give me a call if you'd like some help.

I just did my first powerpoint the other day. It was fun to make. I'd suggest using your own photos (if you use any). That way you have a talking point about any particular techniqe/idea that you have direct experience with. I'm curious to hear any "tips" to making them most effective. I believe I can improve upon mine...
