Pop. Nigra with a history

Had the pleasure of prunning this interseting tree this week. It has been hit by lightning a number of years ago and more or less lost its whole crown and then grew a new one. A good friend of mine pruned the same tree a couple of years ago....this is the second round. The owner of the tree has a weekend get away caravan under it.

The tree is in the flood zone of one of the big rivers of Holland, the Maas. Look to the very left of the attachment and you can see the dijk that protects the rest of the country....Thats a whole lot-a water /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
