Petzl Adjustable Rope Bridge

Why dont you cut the paws off insted of cutting the webbing on the harness? I know you want to play with your new toy, but why go though the the extra work when you can cut the paw. Not sure on the size of the petzl rings as I replaced them long ago with the tree austria shackles... If you use rings they would need to open to install the rope bridge, I don't think DMM makes a ring that opens.

So doing the math, (treestuff lists them as 1.8 inch OD and 12mm thickness, why o why dont we go all metric in the USA) looks like the ISC are the right size that I can use with the Petzl adjust.
It will be a simple matter of removing the stitching on the webbing, installing the rings and re-sewing to be able to use the Petzl adjust. Hope it works as well as my Roll n lock. ;-) on the NT Onyx.

Am I crazy here? Looking at the data sheet for petzl's adjust it clearly shows that the ring needs to go through the aluminim part of the device. How are you going to do this with a dmm ring?

Well, Evo, I see that I did not understand how it worked. I thought it passed under the ring somehow. I noticed on TreeStuff that JB posted a picture of the ring, and it must indeed pass into the adjuster. Funny also, they list the adjuster but don't mention much that it MUST be purchased with the Petzl rings, in fact the Petzl rings are not even listed under related products.
Looks like I'll be placing another order at TreeStuff, maybe they can get a 200' hank of Escalator for me.

Richard:
The ring does, indeed, need to go through the Adjust. And, the Petzl Ring Open can go through the loops on your TM. So, before you make any 'permanent' mods to your harness, consider simply adding the Ring next to the paws as shown in this photo, below. It's worth a try to see if you'll like it. You could also simply try putting the ring through one of the holes in the paw.

Thanks JB. Yes, worth a try to see if I like it.
Aren't you using it?
I'm wondering how well it releases when weighted, that is the one minor issue with the CT Roll N Lock.
Cost run down:
CT Roll N Lock 55 bucks and a couple of zip ties.
Petzl Adjustabel bridge and 2 rings, 120 bucks. plus sewing if I decide I like it, cost zero, I know a guy ;)

I am using it and like it a lot. But, I do not like the bare stitching on the Petzl rope bridge eyes. I am ordering heat shrink from Tree Stuff to 'fix' that.
The Adjust is tough to release when weighted and releases better if un-weighted a little bit. Part of that is getting a good grip on the Adjust when it's nested in the ring.
... and there's some 'learning-curve' still happening ... :hueco:

I just cut mine to look.. There is a petzl tracer in it with a en rating, "Petzl EN (no. not legible)". In the entire bridge length it was only printed once, which ended up being near the sewn splice. There could have been more information that was obliterated from the sewing. Kernmantle.
That's all I got.

I just got my petzl ARB in the mail and going through the informational booklet it can only be installed on one side? Is this true? I don't see why it would be interchangeable on either side? I have all my cutting tools (hand saw and chain saw) on the right side and would prefer not to have the slack loop from the bridge on that side but on the other side with my lanyard.

Has anyone spoken to petzl about this or have any experiences?
