PERKINS PROBLEMS...low hour issue

If there's microbe growth in the fuel line it could cause a restriction. So that might explain with it would bog down under a load. I've never dealt with this problem and from I heard it's not common. Just tear it apart and get r done.

I was thinking in the shower, if this problem was from sitting this dealer should have other machines with this problem. I think it was from a bad batch of fuel that got put in it.

How many times have you changed the filters? With bad fuel usually you have to change them two or more times.

This machine is a 2015 that was on the lot for a while. It's a skidsteer and they don't move a lot of them. They mostly sell track loaders and that was the only skidsteer that size that they had on the yard.

This will be the second filter change, so hopefully that will be the solution. When the problem started, the fuel bowl was about 40% fuel on top and 60% water/gel on the bottom. It was thick enough that the fuel bowl wouldn't drain even with the pitcock removed from the bowl. I had to remove the bowl and clean it with carb cleaner as recommended by the dealership.

Got the machine back yesterday afternoon(the service manager had been on vacation). What a difference it made to have him back in the shop! Turns out there was another fuel filter that wasn't visible. It was clogged up. Put about 3 hours on it today. So far so good. Once the ground dries out a little I'll really put it to work.
