...Is nominated for Director at Large for the Southern Chapter. All you Chapter members, please show your support for Nora. I believe she will make an outstanding Director.

Sorry if I have caused confusion, but Nora has been NOMINATED. She still needs to win election which is why I have posted, to encourage all chapter members to support her.

Yes ISA.
I think (w/o checking) that Southern has the most US States; don't know if it has the most members.

That's different. In the Florida Chapter, the at large directors are appointed by the incoming president, and serve 1 year while the president holds office. The board votes to approve the presidents nominees at the beginning of the first meeting of the year.

Good luck, Nora! Your posts have always shown positive insight, and true passion towards arboriculture. You would surely serve the Chapter well.

I guess I shouldn't mention I'm running against her:). When I heard she was running, I almost immediately knew my chances were much less. I'm just glad to see quality people in the running. Best of luck Nora! Let's keep it away from those big box company folks. Go vote!

Glad you were willing to serve Nick. The organization can only move forward if good people step up. I echo your post, GO VOTE!

Good luck to you both. I was persuaded to toss my hat in a few cycles back, and learned that, just like ISA surveys, the voting is 1. very low (10-15%), ergo 2. disproportionately skewed toward muni and util. I suspected because they were at their desks more often?

I would have sucked as a Director anyway; patience and diplomacy are two among many challenges for me. Maybe voters sensed that! Can't vote for either of ya anymore--I jumped over to the Czech Chapter. My kind of culture over there.

Good luck getting the word out (ISASC newsletter, at least--get Blinky to buy you an ad!), and getting working arbs to vote!
