Great article, but do you see anything questionable about the pic?

Pretty good article. Looked like an auger being used in that picture. Air knife is our preferred tool.

I thought the quarter page ad for Davey's fertilizer at the end of the article was a humorous touch.

Seemed like a decent article to me, though I was curious about what would happen with the lawn post-aeration. The auger looked destructive to me, and the unit is gas powered, as well. What about aerating with narrow rods, or covering the grass with compost, cardboard, and mulch to create a huge coppice which could hold far more companion plants?

Ethan Fowler gave a great seminar at the last NOFA conference that touched on a food forest that was in perfect health and required 0% pesticide chemical input due to its bio-diversity.
