General Membership Elections are now open at www.isa-arbor.com

Scott Prophett is running for seat 2. Scott is a great guy who has volunteered at the ITCC for years and helped get the NATCC started as well. I can't even begin to list everything he has done. Luckily I don't have to because his bio is on the site too as well as the other candidates. It's not too often that I try to publicly support someone but this is someone that I can vouch for on many levels. Do us all a favor and go vote for Scott! ;)

I don't know Scott, but
Dennis Swartzell has worked 35 years in the tree care
profession and has been an active member of the ISA since
1985. Dennis is a Board-Certified Master Arborist and
Consulting Arborist.

Dennis’ background include: Director of Landscape and
Grounds at the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he was
appointed as the first Arboretum Director in 1986; Adjunct
Faculty member at the College of Southern Nevada where he
developed and taught courses in Arboriculture in addition to
other horticulture curricula.

Dennis is a past president of the ISA Western Chapter and the current Secretary-Treasurer of
The Britton Fund. He is a founding member, past president and treasurer of the Southern
Nevada Arborist Group. He has taught pruning and nursery practices to the Master Gardener
program in southern Nevada since 1993 and was named an honorary master gardener in 2013.

Dennis received the ISA True Professional Award in 2009 and the ISA Western Chapter Award of
Commendation in 2000.

Dennis feels that training and education should be a primary focus of the ISA. Dennis is excited
about utilizing his experience and passion for teaching as well as his leadership skills to further
the goals of the ISA.

Safety First. Always.

President & Lead Instructor, North American Training Solutions Loganville, Ga.
Scott Prophett has been an arborist
for more than 25 years. His company is focused on meeting the training and business needs of private, industrial, municipal, and commercial entities where specialized training is needed. Prophett teaches classes and hosts seminars on safety for organizations around the world. He is passionate about assisting organizations in skill training, team building, standard operating procedures, occupational hazard compliance and strengthening business practices.
Prophett is an ISA Certifed Arborist and Certifed Tree Worker, as well as a founding member of the ISA Safety Committee. Outside of ISA activities, Prophett has been active in the Tree Care Industry Association serving on several safety committees, and he has lectured at several Urban Forestry Conferences. He is also heavily involved in the Tree Climbing Championships and is a member and chair of the ITCC Rules & Operations Committee. Prophett has also been a regular speaker and seminar instructor at the ISA Annual Conference, and he has contributed several articles to Arborist News and Tree Care Industry Magazine detailing the latest tree care safety initiatives and climbing techniques.
“My energy is on safety and skills techniques, because a safe arborist will better serve the customer and the public. We see some of the equipment and the way arborists were using it that we thought was normal 10-20 years ago is not as safe as it could be. Arborists are geniuses and will make something work whether it was designed for a specifc use or not.”
Among his colleagues, Prophett is described as cutting-edge in arboriculture safety with a knack for relating to both the tree worker and business executive. A true safety pioneer, Prophett is someone who both “teaches it and lives it.” Since honing his skills as an instructor, Prophett has created a de facto “army” of safety evangelists in the arboricultural community who help spread his messages of proper technique and safety. Prophett ensures his own employees participate in annual week- long training seminars to stay sharp and updated. He has gone so far as to patent his own creations of various arborist supplies. Because of his work, many arborists are now able to work more eff efficientlyciently and with better precision. The ripple effect Prophett has on the industry continues to expand.

That was from his bio when he was awarded ISA'S prestigious "True Professionals of Arboriculture" 2010.

The other two races also have very tough choices between 2 excellent candidates. Check out the Dutch guy's current company and its soil-aeration video. Very classy:
